Do you have hypermobile/EDS/Double-Jointed PIANO students for whom typical technique instruction is not working?
As an active member of numerous online piano pedagogy communities, I've discovered that knowledge about how to teach piano technique in a way that accommodates and honors genetically hypermobile students' bodies is almost completely lacking. As a genetically hypermobile pianist and technique rehabilitator myself, I'm among the best equipped in the pedagogy space to impart this knowledge to colleagues desiring to serve their students' needs most effectively. Hypermobility also has indirect cognitive effects and correlations that are important for teachers to understand. With this population increasing rapidly all over the world and in our studios, there's never been a better time to learn how to teach the hypermobile student.
In the summer of 2024 I will be inaugurating a series of monthly, live group classes for teachers who would like to delve into hypermobility-friendly technique study. In the meantime, and in addition to the classes after they launch, I'd be thrilled to schedule an individual lesson with you or a masterclass with you and your hypermobile student(s). By the way, I'm not limiting this to pianists: I can also provide general hypermobility information and movement principles to teachers of other instruments who lack a body of literature on how to teach hypermobile students. I've already worked with string teachers in this capacity.
Platform information and per-class tuition information will be added in the near future.
Please reach out through the Contact page if these options are of interest or to get on the email interest list for the group classes when they launch. Find the Contact page here.
